To all my friends, but especially Chris:
If you ever need an ear to listen, let me know,
I won't say much but sometimes, to let go
And get those worries out and let them fly,
Frees you and yours to soar away up high
Above the worries that you told goodbye.
Beyond the flight of fancy, you know it's true.
Let me know if ever I can do anything to help my friend,
My friend, that's you!

Sometimes I pause along the way
And think "I'll call my friend today"
But then this thing will raise it's head
And snarl my day and then instead
Round I go like a little mouse
Scurry, scurry through the house
Chased by this ogre that's called life
With teeth of duty, claws of strife
And frantically around I go
Running, running and before I know
The day, the time, the moment's gone
My heart is empty and I long
To have it back, this day I missed
And wasn't hugged and wasn't kissed.
And so I vow that when I'm chased
By the ogres of work and stress and haste
And that when the thought occurs to me
You'll get a note, a call and see
A simple hello, an "ether" kiss
You'll simply know I love and miss
And that I send warm thoughts to you
From this enchanted land of orange and blue!
