Mother Gator's Blog

Who is Mother Gator?

joyceMe, Joyce LeBlanc, also known as Mother Goose or Mother Gator spend most of my time working for the University of Florida’s College of Medicine’s Healthy Families program.  In that more-than-full-time-job, I love working with my beloved staff and the families they serve to enhance the lives of children.

In all my “spare” time, I read, write and promote literacy through my current alter-ego, Mother Gator.  Currently self-publishing the small volume of poems entitled From the Nursery to the Swamp and working to get a second book published “for real”, I stay busy.

My  husband, Patrick and our children, Jennifer, Carol, Patrick, Sophia and Russ are the joys of my life and the support that help me make it through when times get tough.  We are all currently mourning the loss of my mother, Memaw, who died October 10 of this year.  My mom was the one who gave me a love of reading and made sure that all her kids ended up being good students and even better people.  See my Smidgens page for a picture of Memaw with Magic, the minature horse, from Gentle Carousel Therapy Horses.  Thanks to Debbie and Jorge for helping to make this Memory.
